Rotas
ROTAS™: a mechanism to propel space-saving closet storage furnishings.
This is a device the answered demand for the following: stabilizing pin was optional; one that was impervious to heat, cold, and moisture; one that offered substantial weight load tolerance (4,000 pounds minimum); and one that was virtually maintenance-free.
What are the advantages of the ROTAS vs. other mechanical rotational devices?
The ROTAS offers a number of advantages, including:
• Lightweight; non-corrosive; quiet operation.
• Self-stabilizing design may be used with a stabilizing pin, if desired.
• Impervious to heat, cold, water, and extreme pressure.
• Maintenance-free performance.
• Limited lifetime warranty.
What is ROTAS?
ROTAS is a bearing device that enables a structure placed upon it and fastened to it, to rotate freely—manually, mechanically or electronically.
How would you describe ROTAS?
ROTAS consists of 2 channeled pieces of solid surface material, that form a sandwich around 1-inch polyoxymethylene non-metallic bearing balls to create a freely rotating mechanism upon which any variety of rotating structures may be designed and built.
What is the weight load tolerance of ROTAS?
Amazingly, the ROTAS, as certified by an independent testing lab, can handle a load over 10 times the weight capacity of any swivel bearing device on the market today. It has been certified to successfully operate under 8000 lbs. of pressure with no loss of performance. We’d be happy to share those test results.
Moreover, the ROTAS can perform in circumstances and environments where existing metal swivel bearing devices cannot, such as outdoors and under water. Thus, its features and benefits offer a much broader range of design opportunities than were sought when it was initially conceived.
