Steps of Installation
Follow the step-by-step instruction for the successful assembly of your Revolving Unit.
Step-by-Step Instructions of Assembly
All Steps
Step 1
Locate the Stabilizing Dock and place it near the installation location with its channeled side facing up.
Step 2
The two ROTAS Rings are identical. Place either ROTAS Ring in the channel of the Stabilizing Dock with the ROTAS Ring’s channel facing upward.
Step 3
Place all the solid surface ROTAS Bearings in the ROTAS Ring’s channel. Be sure the number of ROTAS Bearings matches the number shown on your Parts Packing Slip.
Step 4
Locate the Ball Bearings. Note: the Rotas Ring Raceway will not be full of ball bearings when all ball bearings are placed in the raceway.
Step 5
How your assembly looks like after the Ball Bearings are placed on the Lower Rotas Ring.
Step 6
Place all the solid surface ROTAS Bearings in the ROTAS Ring’s channel. Be sure the number of ROTAS Bearings matches the number shown on your Parts Packing Slip.
Step 7
This is what your fully assembled ROTAS Assembly should look like.
Step 8
Next, locate the Bottom Deck of the unit--it has a round channel on its underside. Place the channeled side of the Bottom Deck onto the upper ROTAS Ring. When properly positioned, the Bottom Disk revolves freely upon the ROTAS and Stabilizing Dock assembly beneath it. PLACEMENT: Place the result of the assembly at a corner of the room or wherever the unit is being assembled. Leave a minimum of 3/4 inch (0.75 Inch) to the nearest fixed object, which may be the baseboard, if one is attached
Step 9
Move the assembly to the location where it is to be installed. Once it’s positioned, check to be sure the Bottom Deck revolves freely and does not touch any nearby walls or baseboards. NOTE: Consider that uneven floors may affect installation and plan accordingly.
Step 10
Locate the two Side Partitions and place them vertically on the upper side of the Bottom Deck as shown in the drawing. The recessed channel (Rout - an engraved recess) on each Side Partition faces inward. One small hole is predrilled on the bottom of the recessed channel, ensure that the panel is oriented with this hole at the bottom. Using the Lockdowel fasteners pre-installed in the vertical Side Partitions, simply insert them into the key-holes on the Bottom Disk and slide the fasteners to lock each Side Partition in place.
Step 11
Note: Ensure that the center channel of the Bottom Deck now aligns with the channels on the Side Panels, and together these 3 components form a U-shaped channel. VERY IMPORTANT: The upright Side Panels must be supported until the next step is completed, otherwise damage may occur.
Step 12
Locate the Middle Partition and slide it into the U-shaped channel created by the Side Partition and Disk, ensuring that all parts are aligned. The Middle Partition must fit fully into the Bottom Disk channel.
Step 13
Once assembled, the bottom section should look like this. Note it is still important to ensure that no parts tilt and strain the fasteners until the next step is complete.
Step 14
You may use a piece of a string to wrap it around the three vertical partitions to ensure that they remain in place for the next step to be completed successfully.
Step 15
Once the Middle Disk is installed, your assembly this far should resemble the picture. The unit is half assembled. The balance of the upper half unit will be repeat of the steps this far, except there will be no more ROTAS Bearing installation.
Step 16
Locate the two Side Partitions and place them vertically on the upper side of the Middle Deck as shown in the drawing.
Step 17
Note: Ensure that the center channel of the Bottom Deck now aligns with the channels on the Side Panels, and together these 3 components form a U-shaped channel. VERY IMPORTANT: The upright Side Panels must be supported until the next step is completed, otherwise damage may occur.
Step 18
Once assembled, the bottom section should look like this. Note it is still important to ensure that no parts tilt and strain the fasteners until the next step is complete.
Step 19
Locate the Middle Partition and slide it into the U-shaped channel created by the Side Partition and Disk, ensuring that all parts are aligned. The Middle Partition must fit fully into the Bottom Disk channel.
Step 20
Locate the Stabilizing Pin and Bushing. The pin installs from the Lockdowel channel side upward, with the bushing on the pin. Note that the pin may slip out as you are installing the Top Disk, so ensure that you do not loose the pin. A convenient hole is included on the Stabilizing Pin so as to utilize a nail or something small that can be put into the hole above the Top Disk so that the Stabilizing Pin does not drop out.
Step 21
You may use a piece of a string to wrap it around the three vertical partitions to ensure that they remain in place for the next step to be completed successfully.
Step 22
Once the Top Disk is installed, your assembly this far should resemble the picture. The unit is now assembled. Now we can proceed with the shelves.
Step 23
Locate Rectangular Shelves and Shelf Pins. Insert Shelf Pins into appropriate shelf locations, then slide each Rectangular Shelf onto its Pins. Note: Shelves have a small channel on the underside, and that channel should rest upon a pin. This ensures that the shelf does not drop down when items are removed from it.
Step 24
Once assembled, the unit should resemble the picture.
Step 25
Gather the Half-Moon shelves nearby. Starting from the bottom of the assembly, align each Half-Moon with the keyholes on the Side Panels and slide each into place until tight, gently using a rubber mallet as needed.
